What is Legacy Accreditation?
Prior to the establishment of the DEAC and the implementation of formal accreditation processes, several key professional organisations were recognised as possessing sufficient internal quality control mechanisms to ensure the necessary skills and resources where in place to conduct appropriate CPD activities for Dental Practitioners.
As such, these organisations have been granted "Legacy" Accreditation as CPD Providers and have been exempt from the usual DEAC initial Provider Accreditation process.
However, Legacy Accreditation applies only to recognition of the CPD Provider and does not confer accreditation on any individual CPD activity. To gain Accreditation for an individual CPD activity, "Legacy" Providers must complete the usual DEAC Activity Accreditation process.
